I've Got To Crow!

I've Got To Crow! PAINWeek 2008 was a huge success!

Educating health care professionals about the benefits of referring patients to IMDHA certified pain educators makes me happy and I get a buzz out of helping health care professionals discover just how easy it is to be "Persuasive Healers," whenever they are assisting their patients.

And yes, I am feeling very happy and buzzing right now! Our Hypnosis track rocked PAINWeek 2008 and I plan on enjoying every morsel of my post PAINWeek 2008 after-glow.

In my last post, I shared that my friend and associate, Dan Cleary, and I organized a program of hypnosis-based offerings for the licensed frontline Pain Specialists attending PAINWeek 2008. The team we put together included IMDHA Adjunct Instructors: Sue Weinert Hull, RDH, BS, CHt, Nadine Romain, PhD, CHt. and Scott Sandland, BA, CHt.

It is thrilling to report that our entire program was a huge success and I am re-living 5 pleasurable, satisfying and fun filled days as I recount my experience.

We had two challenges, the first was to help the health care professionals who joined us realize just how easy it is to help their chronic pain patients simply by using more effective language and imagery and the second was helping them feel good about referring patients to IMDHA certified Pain Relief Educators®. What can I say? - Our team came home with the gold!

It was really quite amazing to watch - as soon as the health care professionals realized that the only reason evidence based, mind/body modalities like medical hypnosis, NLP and QUANTUM FOCUSING® are on the "Alternative List" instead of in mainstream practice is simply because these modalities aren't widely used - our attendees opened their hearts and minds to our presentations! -- Way cool! They were previously unaware of the ease of use and effectiveness of these mind/body modalities.

Which brings me back to my TT-Blog and my goal to help all of you discover the ease and efficacy of communicating with your patients more effectively and to help you appreciate the benefits and advantages of referring your patients to an IMDHA certified Pain Relief Educator® as part of their care.

I'll be back...

On the Road Again...

I live in NYC and my friend and teaching associate Dan Cleary, lives in West Palm Beach. I am so looking forward to seeing and hanging out with him later this week, at a national hypnosis conference in the Boston area. Both of us will be teaching this weekend with the intention of meeting old and new friends. But what really excites me is that Dan and I will be able to review the 8 seminars on hypnosis that we have organized for PAINWeek 2008, live and in person, rather than via email and the phone.

PAINWeek 2008 is a National Conference on Pain for Frontline Practitioners (September 4 - 7, 2008 in Las Vegas, NV). According to PWs website, PAINWeek is a convergence of multiple pain and primary care organizations presenting educational sessions at a single national conference. PAINWeek is primarily intended for physicians, nursing professionals, physician assistants, dentists, pharmacists, psychologists, and podiatrists. Click here

Dan and I have organized a team of Adjunct Hypnosis Educators who teach for the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association Click here Sue Weinert Hull, RDH, BS, CHt, Nadine Romain, PhD, CHt. and Scott Sandland, BA, CHt., will be teaching seminars with Dan Cleary, CI and I. Together we will be presenting an eclectic program on the many different ways that effective communication and hypnosis can be used to help take the suffering out of painful conditions in medical, hospital and private practice settings.

In mid September, I am going to start exploring creative ways to help all of you discover how easy it is to add simple but yet very effective techniques that you can use to assist patients to regain a sense of control in life. Remember: People who feel better -- heal faster and more effectively. Whether your patient is facing a long-term road to recovery or must simply "learn to live with it," the guided self-help programs that Dan and I offer are tools that will improve the quality of your patient's lives, today and in the future. You will be amazed at how simple language skills can and will improve your patient's rehab and/or therapy...
