Sharing Marketing Ideas

As one of the owners of Physical Solutions I am in charge of marketing for our facility. Some of our programs range from typical physician visits, greeting cards to patients, community lectures, and in house events. We are having a "wine and Cheese" event, inspired from my trip to Italy. The goal of the event is to attract local doctors to come and enjoy the wine and cheese while learning about our services. We also have a quarterly newsletter written by our top notch staff of therapists, strength coaches, registered dietitians, and certified massage therapists.

Have any of you had success with your marketing program. I'm looking for people to share their ideas. I think we can all come together and help each other save time and money in our marketing efforts. I have spent thousands of dollars with PR firms and marketing companies. Some money was sell spent and some was definitely not. I can tell you that our recent program of sending card to patients who were discharged (to ask them how everything is going with post therapy function) has yielded great results. For our newsletter, we have collaborated with area businesses with similar goals of health. We combined our email lists and are distributing the newsletter to thousands of people in our local area.

I hope people contribute their thoughts and I look forward to reading them.

Everyone thinks that MySpace is for teeny boppers, but I've heard many good things about private practice owners using it to market (for free) their facility, joining MySpace PT discussion groups (recruitment), and invite people to events like yours. MySpace is a really a powerful tool, so you might want to look into it. The only investment you really need to make is your time... developing the page and keeping on top of "friending" people. Hope that helps.

I am new in marketing and am looking for ideas to generate more referrals within our clinics. Four clinics in our area.

With reference to Jennifer's comment, I'd like to add that LiveJournal also has groups relevant to PT, including a lot of support groups for various chronic illnesses and neurological conditions. These could be useful forums for the exchange of ideas as well as for (judicious) marketing.
