Swine Flu in your PT clinic?
With the rise in swine flu cases in the US and the statement by the World Health Organization saying " at this point, it's impossible to contain it", we should all be on alert. Encourage your patients and staff members to wash their hands often. You can read an short article on what you can do to help reduce the symptoms and duration and possibly the risk for the swine flu. Also, while the information is specific to the flu, it also applys to any virus. In fact, the use of the recommended nutrient will be much more effect for a cold than any anti biotic. (anti biotics have no effect on colds).

The ears, mouth, nose, and eyes are reservoirs of possible infections after even minor cross-transfer. I work with a sizeable number of hypercondriac asthmatics, many of them well-insured and practically already living in a bubble in the suburbs, and yes I affectionitely call them my "Bubble Boys and Girls". And despite their best efforts at sealing themselves in their homes, they still manage to pick up "new" diseases.
Everyone just bear in mind, that this is a variant of the flu, not a variant of Bubonic plague! It shares many of the same flu symptoms that people have been battling for the better part of a century. We've got the tactics and the tools to beat it. Stay hydrated and eat healthy and every once in a while, get some fresh air!

Luckily the parents were all made aware through some sort of phone chain and since there were over 200 children assigned to the daycare service this week, the hospital made a point to notify and set aside special arrangements for them. I've only been certified for a year now and I've never seen anything quite like it... something out of an Outbreak movie!
As it turned out, after some testing, the children only had a strain of the standard flu virus and apparently some others had experienced dysentery that spread through some of the other children. You can imagine the horror of the parents though: face masks, oxygen tanks, and everything in bubble wrap? Either way, crisis averted :)
