Normal walking, even with a fast pace and good stride, only uses approximately 70 percent of the muscle mass in the body at any given time. However, with Nordic Walking poles in hand, and with the proper technique, patients could now be utilizing up to 90 percent of their bodys muscle while increasing their heart rate significantly.
